Guelph raises the One World Living Together flag at City Hall
The One World Living Together flag was raised by some of Guelph’s younger residents on May 30.
“The raising of the One World Living Together flag reflects the core objectives of unity and peace, promoted by the Guelph & District Multicultural Festival, as well as our united effort to achieve these common goals,” said Carmela Nini, the organizer of this year’s ceremony.
The national anthem was sung by local grade four students.
The crowd was greeted by Guelph’s mayor Cam Guthrie and Guelph’s chief of police Jeffrey DeRuyter.
The flag raising ceremony marked the official beginning of the Guelph & District Multicultural Festival, which takes place at Riverside Park from June 9 to 11.
